Mrs. Garmon has worked with families and children in a counseling roll since 1999. Her broad education, experience, and training allow her to work with all age groups and with a broad range of issues. She has a strong background in working with children and adolescents and their families who have experienced violence, abuse, or have school related issues. She also has further experience, education and training in marriage and family counseling and is a Registered Play Therapist. Mrs. Garmon served on the Board of Directors for the North Texas Association for Play Therapy as president elect, is a member of the National Association for Play Therapy, and a member of the Texas Counseling
Association. Previously, Mrs. Garmon was the Director of the Child, Adolescent, and Family Services program for Denton County Friends of the Family where she worked extensively with children ages 2½ to 17 and their families on issues such as abuse, family violence, divorce, emotional and physical abuse, and school related issues through individuals well as family and group counseling. She also led Violence Intervention groups during that time. Working with children, adolescents, families, couples, and individual adults has been a passion Of Mrs. Garmon’s for over 20 years.
